Hi, you’ll find me, the author of Wizard’s Guide at Rona Gallery (151 Muritai Rd Eastbourne) today for this event:
Pukatea Street chooks & other homicidal birds
Get into the spring spirit with an unforgettable afternoon
of humorous poetry & stories from EASTBOURNE: an anthology,
performed by the writers. Warning: attending could
leave you with a permanent grin or peck marks. For all ages.
2 pm Sun 19 October
Local friends and other Eastbourne lovers – help us celebrate the re-opening of the Rona Gallery and all it does for local artists and writers and families by coming along to this fun and free event.
Suzanne Herschell’s rendition of carnivorous chooks is something to behold and so, we understand, is Manny Garcia performing his PREPOSTEROUS POEM about the Ponders. And life will reflect art will reflect life when James McNeish reads from his piece about famous writers coming to town. You’ll hear stories and poems about over-sexed penguins and drunk tui and stealing shags and cavorting dolphins, and you’ll meet a certain Jonathan Trout swimming at Days Bay and hear the first poem (as far as we know) written about an ice cream freezer at the Four Square. Phil Benge makes a guest appearance as a possum hunter, and more…
Local Iain Gordon will play the mandolin in the intervals.
TELL YOUR FRIENDS. A perfect event for all ages. Looking forward to seeing you there 🙂
