What kind of reader are you?

Image that says "You are a ? Reader" With the questionmark over a rainbow of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple colours

Are you reading for adventure, an emotional journey, something experimental and fresh, or vivid storytelling with great world building?

Need a site to tell you which books you want to read? Nah, probably not. But if you’re like me you’ll check it out anyway, for the laughs, to tell your friends

It’s something I explored for a while while I was figuring out, a little late in life, what kind of author I wanted to be. Which is why I was instantly fascinated by this quiz—having correctly picked myself for purple, followed by orange and red.

Diligently I went through the titles. Yup, I’d read that. No, I wouldn’t read that. And tada!

“The Purple Reader is The Unbound Innovator—a bold, unconventional thinker who thrives on experimental storytelling and genre-defying narratives.”

Which is fun, I always knew I was drawn to originality. Interestingly enough, I was only interested in reading one of the books they recommended (Again, because I’m pretty sure I’ve already read it). Left Hand of Darkness by UKL.

So anyway, that was fun.

I’d be interested to know what sorts of books you love to read. Red, blue, orange, yellow, purple or green. You can check it out here.

So it might seen weird that I’ve hit on cosy fantasy as what I want to write from now on, But the truth is, cosy fantasy is innovative and new. It’s not just one thing, and I’m hoping it will end up having the amazing range that can be found in Middle Grade fantasy, which is often maligned, but is

A.J. Ponder author of all these purple orange and red books with blue and green covers! Lol.
