Ngā mihi o te Kirihimete ki a koe
I hope you’re looking forward to a lovely break over Christmas. And if you are, think of me, I’m going to be flat out on three projects!
- Convening New Zealand’s Premier Judged Speculative Fiction Award. Te Pae Tawhiti. NZ authors be warned, entries close January 9th 2026!
- Eileen Mueller’s Riders of Fire: Dragon Masters 1-3 Luxe Omnibus, and two of my own books!
- And most importantly, finishing The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Dragons & Magical Creatures & Demons the second and final book in my cosy, the Dragon Society Papers series. (And that’s not counting Into the DeadLands, the final of Blood of the Fae which is currently still away with the editor.)
As you can imagine, it’s all insanely busy which is why I’ve barely posted this year. But I hope to be more active next year with some fun writing ideas and more. And so, with no further ado, here are the Christmas stories for you! 🙂
Christmas Story Extracts
I don’t have that many Christmas stories at some point I’ll try and dig up my adult short, short story. But I do have these two fun ones that can be enjoyed by young and old. I’ve added the ages in case you want to share them. 🙂
Miss Lionheart’s, Christmas in an Evil Criminal Mastermind’s Bunker & Frankie’s Christmas Letters
Lilly woke up thinking Christmas in this dump was like putting a
Rottweiler into a sugar-plum fairy outfit – only to go to breakfast and find Mr Big had done exactly that. Poor Annie sat at the front of the mess-hall, scratched at her pink tutu and whined, until Mr Big thoughtfully distracted her with an oversized femur – still wearing a sock…
Dear Santa,
I’m really, really sorry, I didn’t mean to take the video of you getting stuck in the chimney last year…
Feeling really Christmassy? Frankie’s Christmas Letters is also available in The Best of Twisty Christmas Tales, below. 🙂
And, Merry Christmas, everyone! I’ll see you in the New Year!
